Only age and slower times precipitate this reluctant sale. Owner is a life-long Tbird collector and has a '56 Tbird that IS Concourse Quality. This is not a concourse restored car, but its VERY well done for its merits that I am content to let the buyer decide. It rides straight/true and I can only imagine how nice it must be on a war summer's day. The top works beautifully/reliably and the car has a better stance. OPINION: For those who may recall, I sold a club members '64 Tbird 2 years ago and for as nice as it was, it was nowhere near as nicely done as this '64 is. Fluids are all full, and no signs of any leaks are observed. Trans shifts thru all detents as it should with no surprises. MECHANICAL: V8 Engine starts easily and has expectant good power. Of course the CLOCK lolįactory AC comes on as it should and blows cold.Īll bulbs inside work and are refreshingly vivid/bright. Dash instruments are clear and everything works as it should except for the clock. Back seat is in great condition with no fade or wear evident. Carpet is not soiled and has no signs of wear. The Woodgrain on the doors and dash are beautiful and in great shape. INTERIOR: Black Bucket Seat vinyl interior in great original condition. I should note a nice bonus with this electronic setup is a remote switch at bottom of the back seatbase that allows emergency operation of top if needed. Top goes up quickly and operates as it should. ![]() Power top has been upgraded to the modern electronic setup-no more suspect relay failures etc. No parts were "masked" and everything was properly removed for a very high end finish. At first glance the color seems off-putting, but on close inspection is clearly well done with little no no flaws evident. Tires are like new with a correct-style whitewall tire. No stone chips in the windshield or paint finish. Wheel Cover do not have any curb-scrape evident. The clear plastic back window is like new. The soft top is like new with no stains or wrinkles. The panel fit/finish are nearly flawless on this nicely restored example. OPTIONS: PS, PB, PW, Tilt-away Column, Power Top, Power Antenna, Factory AC, Automatic Transmission.ĮXTERIOR: This car has been professionally disassembled and painted 4 years ago to Coral pastel in 2-stage base clear that is a strong 9 out of 10 for its quality. Please take a look at this stunner of a '64 Tbird Convertible that has been highly restored.Ĭoral over Black Vinyl Interior with black Hartz soft top. On 12/23, Seller reduced price on the Craigslist ad to $37,500 I’m not sure what the magic sales price will be, but I hope the seller and buyer are both happy with the outcome. For sale on Craigslist: 1964 Ford Thunderbird Convertible in Franklin, TN - $47,500 - Call Chris: 615 499 03 eight zero ![]() I think it will take a specific buyer to be interested in this one–either someone who has an emotional attachment to this type of car and wants to drive it and enjoy it, or someone who can wrap up the restoration inexpensively with a nice paint job and turn a profit. At this point, this car seems to be in the middle between a good investment and a potential money pit. These Thunderbirds aren’t the most valuable collector cars, but can command high dollars for immaculate restorations and rarities. The seller doesn’t state why the car is up for sale. I like the blue color with all the 60’s trim. There are two photos of the interior in the ad and they both look pretty good. With the seller stating they have spent so much money, hopefully they have been vigilant about keeping receipts and documenting the restoration progress with photos. ![]() ![]() The ad states that “almost everything under the hood is new” which I think is vague enough to warrant several questions from prospective buyers. I’m assuming one is “as found” condition and the other one (seen above) is a more recent picture. There are two pictures of the engine compartment in the ad. If that’s true, this would be a fun project for someone to complete. The seller states they have spent over $14,500 on new parts and put “hundreds of hours” into this project. This 1964 Ford Thunderbird is for sale here on craigslist in Spring, Texas for the asking price of $9,500. Said to be a true barn find, this appears to be a half-done project to me.
